Here's your Eagles' radio and television playbook for the season:
- “The Donovan McNabb Show,” with former Eagles wide receiver Mike
Quick replacing Keith Russell as host, airs on 6ABC at 12:05 a.m. Sunday.
- On Sunday morning, “The Andy Reid Show” with Dave Spadaro airs at
10:30 a.m. on Fox29. “Eagles' Game Day Live,” with Don Tollefson
(whose 1990 final broadcast on Channel 6 can be found on www.youtube.com)
follows on Fox29 at 11 a.m. with player-reporters Brian Dawkins and Jon
Runyan. Runyan has been preparing for a post-football career for years now
by doing as much television and radio as possible. CBS3 will do a
“Sunday Kickoff” show at 11 a.m.
- Howard Eskin, Glen Macnow, Rhea Hughes, Big Daddy Graham and Hugh
Douglas will co-host the pre-game show before home games on WIP 610-AM.
Macnow and Ray Didinger will co-host the pre-game show before away games.
Steve Martorano and Douglas will co-host the post-game show.
- On WYSP 94.1-FM, John Miller and Kevin Riley co-host “Countdown to
Kickoff” three hours before the game. Bill Bergey and “Vinnie the
Crumb” will do the pre-game show. Riley will join them for away games,
and Didinger will co-host during home games. Following the game, Paul
Jolovitz and Bergey will co-host the post game show and Miller and Riley
will co-host “The Fifth Quarter.”
- Jody McDonald will anchor the pre-game show with Joe DeCamara and Glenn
Foley on Sports Talk 950-AM. Harry Mayes and Jamie Yannacone will handle
the post-game show.
- Following the game, Comcast SportsNet airs “Eagles Post Game Live”
with Michael Barkann, Didinger, Vaughn Hebron and, later in the season,
Gov. Ed Rendell. Isn't it time to add “Eagles Pre Game Live?” The
interest is definitely there.
- Shawn Andrews replaces Dhani Jones as the player-reporter for “Eagles'
Football Frenzy” on 6ABC Sundays at 11:30 p.m. Channel 6 will get a
tough challenge this season from NBC10, as it wisely has put “Sports
Final” on immediately following “NBC Sunday Night Football.” Last
week, NBC10 beat 6ABC in the local Sunday night sports show ratings
6.2-5.2 (each rating point equals around 29,000 viewers). Also, CBS3 will
air “Sports Zone” at 11:30 p.m.
- On Monday nights, “The Coach's Show” hosted by Merrill Reese,
Beasley Reece and Andy Reid airs at 6 on WYSP 94.1-FM. Jolovitz and Tom
Cardella co-host “Monday Night Kickoff” from 7-8 p.m. on WBCB 1490-AM.
“The Michael Lewis Show” airs on ESPN 920-AM and sister station “The
Hawk” 97.5-FM from 8-9 p.m.
Philly flavor
This week's Fox pre-game show will take place from Lincoln Financial Field
because the No. 1 team of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be doing the
Eagles-Giants game.
New contest
Sports Talk 950-AM is doing a “When Will Terrell Owens Blow” contest.
How about this column does a “When Will Sports Talk 950-AM Blow” contest?
