Football Shows Crowding the Airwaves

There are so many Eagles-related shows on television and radio, we need a second column to follow up on last week's.

“Sunday Kickoff” with Beasley Reece airs at Sundays at 11 a.m. on CBS3.

“Sports Zone” with Reece and Don Bell airs Sundays at 11:30 p.m. on CBS3.

Former NFL players Garry Cobb, Scott Zolak, Ray Lucas, and Brian Mitchell discuss the week's games on “Out of Bounds” on CN8 Mondays at 7 p.m.

Michael Barkann returns for “Monday Night Live” on Comcast SportsNet Mondays at 7 p.m. Former Eagles Ike Reese and Hugh Douglas join Barkann. The show is taped live at Chickie's and Pete's in South Philadelphia.

Ron Burke hosts “Pro Football Now” on Comcast SportsNet Thursdays at 11 p.m. Brian Baldinger and Doc Walker provide analysis.

Eagles' play-by-play man Merrill Reese, CBS3's Beasley Reece and Andy Reid return for “The Andy Reid Show” on WYSP 94.1-FM Mondays at 7 p.m.

“The Tuesday Night Huddle” with Tom Cardella and Paul Jolovitz airs at 6 p.m. on WBCB 1490-AM.

“Pro Football Report” with Merrill Reese and Harry Gamble airs Thursdays at 6 p.m. on WBCB 1490-AM.

Classic rock station WMGK 102.9-FM is getting into the action with music and football talk on “Classic Kickoff” two hours before each Eagles game.

Different kind of game

Since this is the 75th anniversary of the Eagles, wouldn't a great television special be a game show about the team?

There could be categories such as uniform numbers, decades ('70s, '80s, '90s), draft choices, position players, coaches, broadcasters, front office, fields, injuries, scandals, awards, and more.

Here's a broadcasting question to get started: Name at least three former Eagles currently working as broadcasters. The answer appears at the bottom of the column.

Jaws speaks

Ron Jaworski will discuss his former team when the Eagles host the Redskins on “Monday Night Football” on ESPN at 8:30 p.m.

Ratings game

NFL shows composed four of the top 10 programs last week. The Giants-Cowboys “Sunday Night Football” game on NBC was first, the Saints-Colts Thursday night game on NBC was second, “The OT” on Fox was fourth, and “The NFL Opening Kick-off Show” on NBC was eighth.

Trivia answer

Brian Baldinger, Ron Jaworski, Hugh Douglas, Mike Golic, Eric Allen, Vaughn Hebron, Rodney Peete, Mike Ditka, John Madden, Bill Cowher, Ike Reese, Mike Quick, Garry Cobb, Vai Sikahema, Brian Mitchell, Dick Vermeil and Cris Carter.
