With the recent retirement of overnight anchor Bill Shuster, KYW 1060-AM is tweaking its overnight presentation, which means less live voices, and more recorded material.

In an email, station General Manager David Yadgaroff wrote, “With some of our digital audio upgrades, we're now able record some additional sections of the regular newscast, adding to what's already been pre-recorded in the past.  There is a live announcer working all night, updating the news every half-hour with any new developments on breaking news.  And all of the traffic reports are live.

The additional pre-recorded material on the overnight has allowed us to re-allocate resources to another portion of the day, which will we're still in the process of implementing.  There will be no cut in the size of our staff.”

Industry sources say former Channel 10 reporter Cindy Hamill will be returning to town to work as a freelancer for CBS3.  Soucres say that Hamill also talked to Fox29.  Hamill worked for NBC10 from 1999-2005.
