Since we are approaching the end of another school year, here is a report card for our local stations.



Outstanding – More appearances of beloved Lisa Thomas Laury, the “Action News” theme, Gardner and Roberts, The Pennsylvania Lottery drawing, The Thanksgiving Day Parade

Satisfactory – Adam Joseph, the morning team of Tamala Edwards, Matt O’Donnell, Karen Rogers, and David Murphy

Unsatisfactory – Keith Russell, Jessica Borg, Monica Malpass’ ring finger,



Outstanding – Tim and Renee, Doug Kammerer, Luann Cahn

Satisfactory – The sports department, Sports Final, Dawn Timmeney back on the anchor desk

Unsatisfactory – The “10” Show, “All That and More,” the fight between Vince DeMentri and Hurricane Schwartz, Renee Chenault Fattah’s husband, Chaka Fattah losing the Democratic mayoral primary, downsizing anchors to one per show at 4, 5, and 6, Lori Wilson



Outstanding – Kathy Orr, Carol Erickson, the new studio,, Race for the Cure

Satisfactory – The noon news with Pat Ciarrocchi and Ukee Washington, Angela Russell, Larry Mendte

Unsatisfactory – The morning news, receiving vacation photos in emails from Alycia Lane



Outstanding – The “American Idol” lead-in, Dorothy and Sue, Joyce Evans, Bruce Gordon

Satisfactory – The new 5 p.m. news, Seinfeld reruns

Unsatisfactory – The 11 a.m. news, the rest of “Good Day Philadelphia,” The Michele McCormack "will she/won't she" drama.



Outstanding – “It’s Your Call with Lynn Doyle,” “Money Matters Today with Mary Caraccioli,” Kevin Walsh

Satisfactory – “Your Morning”

Unsatisfactory – “Art Fennell Reports,” “Out of Bounds” at 11 p.m.



Outstanding – The “So Philly So You” theme, marathons for shows such as “The Brady Bunch” and “Roseanne.”
Satisfactory – The CW “Wake Up” News

Unsatisfactory – When Robyn Stevens subs on the “Wake Up” news.


Outstanding – The Tube digital music channel

Satisfactory – Maury and Jerry, “American Idol Rewind,” The Mummers Parade

Unsatisfactory – myNetworkTV, taking “Sex and the City” off weeknights at 11 p.m.



Outstanding – The music specials with Pierre Robert and the nerdy guys, “Philly’s Favorite Kids Show Hosts”

Satisfactory – The childrens’ lineup

Unsatisfactory – The rest of the boring PBS shows.



If Donald Trump has as much money as he says, maybe he should start his own Trump Television Network, so he can be on television whenever he wants.  I think he’s found his calling analyzing celebrities.


“Kathy Griffin:  Everybody Can Suck It” and the season premiere of “Kathy Griffin:  Life on the D List” airs tonight (Tuesday) on Bravo beginning at 9 p.m.


The final episode of “The Sopranos” airs Sunday at 9 on HBO.
