Out of the Mix

Longtime Sixers television analyst Steve Mix will not return to the broadcast team this season.

Comcast SportsNet, the employer of Mix and play-by-play announcer Marc Zumoff, said in a statement, “With the conclusion of the 2006-2007 NBA regular season, we are evaluating new ideas for our Sixers game broadcasts, and will not be renewing Steve Mix’s contract when it ends next month.  We would like to thank Steve for the insight and experience he has shared with our viewers, and wish him well in his future endeavors.  Marc Zumoff will continue his play-by-play duties.”

Zumoff and Mix worked together for twelve years, the longest running broadcast team in Philadelphia. 

There is no word who will replace Mix yet, but the front-runner is likely to be radio analyst Todd MacCulloch, who filled in for Mix a few times on television this season.

MacCulloch and radio play-by-play announcer Tom McGinnis are employed by the Sixers.
