CN8 host Lynn Doyle hosts a “Think Pink for Mother’s Day” fundraiser at Terrace Tavern on Long Beach Island, N.J., Sunday, May 13 at noon.

All of the “Think Pink” proceeds go to the fundraising efforts of Doyle’s “Team Fellowship,” a group of her close friends walking in the Boston Breast Cancer 3-Day, August 3 through August 5.

Doyle, who participated in the 60-mile walk last year said, “It was one of the most incredible things I’ve ever done.”

Doyle’s mother is a Breast Cancer survivor and the sister of a member of “Team Fellowship” was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Breast Cancer will be the topic on “It’s Your Call” Sunday at 9 p.m. on CN8.

Mama Mia

WOGL 98.1-FM is searching for “The Ultimate Mom.”  Go to www.wogl.com to nominate your favorite mother. Winners will receive a package that includes restaurant, bed and breakfast, jewelry, and spa prizes.

Life in the Fast Lane

Congratulations to traffic announcer Rod Carson, who celebrates his 50th year in broadcasting this summer.  Carson was the voice behind the first regularly scheduled traffic reports on KYW 1060-AM in 1977.

This year’s “Kicked off American Idol” theme song, “Home” is by last year’s fourth-place finisher Chris Daughtry.  “Home” is the second hit single for his group “Daughtry.”

Tonight, expect Lakisha Jones and Melinda Doolittle to excel on “Disco Night” with Barry Gibb tonight at 8 on Fox.

CBS newsman Russ Mitchell will be the featured guest speaker at the third annual “Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists” awards program, Saturday, June 9 in Philadelphia. Former Philadelphia television consumer reporter Orien Reid, who currently works as an ambassador for Alzheimer’s International, will be presented the Community Service Award. Fox29’s Sheinelle Jones will host the event.  Though Jones does a solid job on “Good Day Philadelphia,” I’m not sure if her pairing with not as funny as advertised Clayton Morris is working.

Martha Returns –  It’s a Good Thing

“Martha” and “iVillage Live” are not canceled, as was reported last week.  Both are returning in the fall.  I’m fine with Martha’s return (she’s been better since she got out of the slammer), but “iVillage” should be “iCanceled.”
