Nominations for the 27th annual Sports Emmys are out. Here are the nominees in the major categories. The Emmys will be awarded May 1.

Outstanding Sports Personality-Studio Host: Bob Costas, HBO/NBC; Bryant Gumbel, HBO; James Brown, Fox; John Saunders, ABC/ESPN; Rich Eisen, NFL Network/CBS .

My choice would be steady James Brown, who is returning to CBS.

Outstanding Sports Personality-Play by Play: Al Michaels, ABC; Jim Lampley, HBO; Jim Nantz, CBS; Joe Buck, Fox; Keith Jackson, ABC.

Joe Buck is the only person in this group who hasn't been at the network level for at least 20 years. I'd like someone “new” to win.

Outstanding Sports Personality-Studio Analyst: Cris Collinsworth, HBO; Harold Reynolds, ESPN; Howie Long, Fox; Kirk Herbstreit, ESPN; Tom Jackson, ESPN.

For those who think of Tom Jackson as only a former player, he is entering his 20th year at ESPN. He played in the NFL for 14 years.

Nice guys finish first

There were two big upsets in the Radio Bracket of our Sports Broadcasters' Field of 64. No. 10 seed Ray Didinger beat No. 6 seed Glen Macnow, and No. 5 seed Anthony Gargano upended No. 1 seed Howard Eskin.

Here are this week's results. E-mail this week's votes to determine the champions in each bracket.

Announcer bracket: (1) Harry Kalas (over Jim Jackson) vs. (2) Merrill Reese (over Marc Zumoff)

Philly TV bracket: (1) Michael Barkann (over Don Tollefson) vs. (2) Gary Papa (over Vai Sikahema)

Radio bracket: (5) Anthony Gargano (over Howard Eskin) vs. (10) Ray Didinger (over Glen Macnow)

National bracket: (1) Joe Buck (over John Madden) vs. (11) Bob Costas (over Al Michaels)

Rollins report

Jimmy Rollins can report on his own hitting streak on “The Rollins Report” on ESPN 920's “Philly Sports Live” show from 4-7 p.m. weekdays. He will make bi-weekly reports.

Conked out

Joe Conklin is a free agent again. The sports impressionist's contract with Greater Philadelphia Media expired last week.

Kicker

With the news that Terrell Owens is joining the Dallas Cowboys, maybe his reality show should be called “Dancing with the Star.”
